Fife’s trees and woodlands are special places – for nature, for climate and for people. Every small action helps them to thrive. To celebrate the care people across Fife are giving to our trees and woods, we’re inviting you to take part in the Fife Climate Forest: One Small Action for Trees and Woods Challenge.
This summer, we want to hear what you’ve done to care for a tree or woodland in Fife. It could be something simple or something you’re really proud of – every action matters. Share your videos and photos that show you are making a difference.
What can you share
You entries could show:
- Litter picking in a local greenspace or woodland
- Creating deadwood habitat piles
- Caring for young trees
- Helping wildlife
- Or sharing why a local woodland or greenspace is special to you and your community
Please check that you have permission from landowner to carry out the activity. Your entry should show how you’ve taken one small action to care for trees and woods in Fife.
How to take part
You can enter in one of two ways:
Option 1: Short video
- Record a 1–2 minute video sharing what you did and why
- You can choose to be on camera or simply narrate over footage or photos
- Videos can be filmed on a phone or a camera
Option 2: Photo and short explanation
- Share one photo of your action
- Include a short written explanation of what you did and why
Categories
There are three categories:
- Primary school
- Secondary school & youth
- Adult
For schools you might like to use this as a way to take learning outdoors and link with Fife’s new Outdoor Learning Skills Framework.
How to enter
Taking part is simple. Please email your photos and short videos to climateforest@climateactionfife.org.uk
Photos should be image files (ideally JPG) and up to 10MB in size.
Videos should be 1-2 minutes long. You can use a free service like MailBigFile to share your entry.
Entries close on Friday 31 August 2026. The winners will be announced shortly after. Your photo or video may be used to help fund, promote, and celebrate the Fife Climate Forest.
