Learn how to design and establish a forest garden

Come and join us for a workshop to learn the basics of designing, establishing and maintaining a Forest Garden. This workshop will include a tour of the Forest Garden and an introduction to the plants used. This workshop will be led by Janice Gibson, long term volunteer with PLANT (People Learning About Nature in Tayport) and Forest Garden curator.


There will be a mixture of discussion and activities to ensure you go away inspired and confident to get start your Forest Garden journey. The forest gardener works with nature to cocreate a sustainable and stable ecosystem that regenerates soil, supports wildlife, nurtures the gardener and is aesthetically pleasing.

About our tutor

Janice Gibson has a lifelong passion for plants. Having done several introductory permaculture courses, she completed an online forest garden design course in December 2019, and the Permaculture Design Certificate in June 22.
This event is suitable for beginners. This event will start indoors at the Larick Centre and then move to the Community Garden, so please wear suitable outdoor clothing for the weather.

Coffee/tea and snacks included in workshop.

Accessibility

The Larick Centre is fully accessible. Car parking with disabled spaces close to building.


Tayport Community Garden, Pond Lane, Tayport: Please note the terrain is flat and the paths are gravel. There is a composting toilet on site. Tayport Community Garden is located at the end of Pond Lane. Car access to the Garden Gate for disabled drivers only, otherwise please walk or cycle. If you drive, please park on Elizabeth Street, and walk up the lane.
