Seafield Beach Nature Art & Coastal Adventure

Seafield Beach Nature Art & Coastal Adventure

Event Information

Join us for a family‑friendly coastal adventure at Seafield Beach, Kirkcaldy.

This relaxed outdoor event welcomes families and individuals of all ages to explore nature, creativity and the environment through a gentle coastal walk and hands‑on art activities. As we wander along the shoreline, participants will be encouraged to tune into the small wonders around them, shifting patterns in the sand, the movement of the tide, the shapes of rocks and pools, the colours of the sea, the coastal plants and the wildlife that calls Seafield shoreline home.

We will take our time to slow down and notice details we might normally walk past, turning the journey into a gentle adventure of observation, imagination and discovery. Along the way, we’ll also reflect on how our coastline changes over time from the warm tropical seas that once covered this part of Scotland, as shown by the fossils found near Seafield Tower, to the shifting tides, weather and climate that continue to shape the landscape we love today.

We will pause at inspiring spots along the route giving families and individuals time to sketch, paint or capture photos and short films of whatever sparks their creativity. After the walk, we will gather at our beach gazebo for a relaxed creative moment and a chance to reflect on what we’ve seen along the shoreline. Participants are welcome to continue sketching, share their favourite discoveries, or simply enjoy the coastal atmosphere together.

Whether people have created drawings, taken photos, or captured short films, they are warmly invited to submit their work for inclusion in our event feature for the Fife Climate Festival and on our Seafield Environmental Group website and social media.

Accessibility: Everyone is warmly welcome to join the event. Please note that the coastal path to Seafield Tower includes uneven ground and may not be suitable for wheelchair users or people using mobility scooters. However, participants are very welcome to join us at the beach gazebo, which is located on flatter ground near the car park.

Booking: This event has a small entry fee of £5 per adult and is free for children up to age 16. Booking is required. A link to our Eventbrite page will be available on our website and Facebook page.

Refreshments: We will provide small snacks and drinks. Participants should bring their own packed lunch.
