Healthy Soils with Dr Liz Lakin
Event Information
Join us at the Ecology Centre, Kinghorn for a workshop on Healthy Soils. At the workshop we will learn about the different types of soil, why the chemistry of soil is important and do some soil testing. We’ll also discuss ways to improve your soil and give an overview of the important elements of a healthy soil. Our tutor will be Dr Liz Lakin from Dundee University.
To get the best from the workshop please bring along a soil sample from your own garden or an area you use for growing. Take soil with a trowel from at least a trowel’s depth below the surface. Place soil in a medium sized jar to about 1/3 full, then fill up with water and leave to settle. Ideally, do this 2 weeks before. Try not to shake the jar on the way to the workshop!
This event is suitable for beginners. Hot drinks and snacks will be provided. This event will be mostly indoors with some outdoor activities.
