Gardening for the Future

Gardening for the Future

Event Information

Gardening for the Future is your opportunity to volunteer with us in the garden. Led by gardener and environmentalist Dr Helena Simmons, volunteers of any age, ability, or experience can join in with gardening, growing, and environmental activities.

During this Fife Climate Festival event there will be some additional activities:

At 11am get hands on with our new FCCAN funded tumbler composter, take a turn tumbling our composter and help turn our food and paper hand towel waste into lovely compost.
At 1-2:30pm join us round the biochar kiln to see how we produce Biochar from waste wood. The Biochar burn will be demonstration only, help will be appreciated in crushing previously made biochar.

We will provide tea, coffee, juice, and biscuits to sustain us through the day. You don’t need a ticket, just come along for as long or as little as you want to.

Please dress for the weather as we will be mostly outdoors and wear sturdy shoes and clothes you are happy to get a bit muddy.
