Community fun day at Beacon Leisure Centre

Fife Council, in partnership with Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, have carried out major sustainability upgrades at Beacon Leisure Centre to significantly reduce carbon emissions and improve the energy efficiency of the building.
The main contractor for the work, Alternative Heat, along with Fife Council and Fife Sports and Leisure Trust have organised a community fun day to give the public and Centre users an opportunity to learn more about the what’s involved in the project, and how the improvements will reduce the carbon footprint of the Leisure Centre.
Along with the chance to learn about cleaner energy and the technologies installed, there will be fun activities for children and families with inflatables, a themed painting competition with prizes, food stalls and a prize raffle.
Fife Council is working together to build a sustainable future for the people of Fife, delivering clean energy projects for our public buildings. By transforming to cleaner, more sustainable and efficient energy systems, we are working towards Scotland’s net zero emissions target date of 2045.
