Kirkcaldy to Kinghorn coastal ramble

Kirkcaldy to Kinghorn coastal ramble

Event Information

Join us for a beautiful coastal walk along the Fife Coastal Path from Kirkcaldy to Kinghorn.

We will walk along from Seafield, passing the historic Seafield Tower and looking out for interesting plants, wildlife and geology on the way.

Our journey will be partly along the beach, depending on accessibility requirements and weather conditions, allowing us to beachcomb for pottery, sea-glass and fossils.

When we reach Kinghorn, walkers may choose to get the train or bus back to Kirkcaldy (at their own expense), or do the return walk independently. There are cafes in Kinghorn if we wish to finish with coffee/lunch together.

Additional Information

Please note that this walk is weather-dependent. In the event of forecast adverse weather, Greener Kirkcaldy staff will decide whether to go ahead with the walk the day before. We will contact attendees via phone and email if the walk cannot go ahead.

Participants should be able to walk 2-3 miles at a leisurely pace. The route is mostly flat with some steeper sections, on coast path and sand. May be muddy/rocky in places.

Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. Dogs are not permitted at this event.

Please wear appropriate clothes and shoes for the weather. Remember to also bring your own water and snacks if you feel you need them.

Public toilets will be available near the start point at Morrisons.
