FCCAN networking event with CLP Nature Group: Keeping our community beaches clean!

FCCAN networking event with CLP Nature Group: Keeping our community beaches clean!

Event Information

What is this event about?

The event will be hosted by the Charlestown, Limekilns and Pattiesmuir Nature Group, who are looking forward to sharing all we need to know about how to run a beach clean, in theory and in practice!

We will start off by meeting at Limekilns Parish Church and then shortly after, move to a local beach a few minutes’ walk away.

What will happen during the event?

We’ll start the visit with a cuppa and biscuits, whilst meeting the other participants.

We’ll then hear a short presentation by Jo and Kim from the CLP Nature Group on their general work and beach cleans – the importance of these, and things to think about when running one. They will also cover the challenges they face environmentally in their local area, and what action they are taking. Resources will be provided to take away.

We will then walk a few minutes down to the beach to complete a one-hour beach clean, collecting data for the Marine Conservation Society.

Afterwards we will the return to the church for soup and a roll and an informal round-up.

No experience or knowledge about beach cleans is needed.

What are FCCAN networking events?

FCCAN networking events are for representatives of any Fife community group, charity, community council, development trust etc, who are taking action on the climate or biodiversity crisis, or who would like to get involved. Our networking events share learning and inspiration and can lead to new partnerships and projects. Just bring along your curiosity and ideas!
